Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026 Version: 2026-06-10
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service, the Community & Marketplace Rules, and the Marketplace Seller Agreement. It describes specific conduct that is prohibited on So You Sew. Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, strikes, payout holds, suspension, or termination, depending on severity.
1. No abuse of people
You may not, through the Service:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, dox, or incite violence against any person.
- Engage in hate speech or targeted abuse based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, or other protected characteristic.
- Sexually solicit or harass other users, including minors.
- Encourage self-harm or eating disorders.
- Share another person's private information without consent.
2. No abuse of the platform
You may not:
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service, except for the standard mobile/web clients we publish.
- Attempt to access, probe, or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, including denial-of-service attacks, port scans, vulnerability exploitation, or rate-limit bypassing.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source from the app, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Use the Service to host malware, phishing pages, or anything that compromises others' devices or accounts.
- Create multiple accounts to evade suspensions, manipulate engagement, or commit fraud.
- Spam — bulk unsolicited messages, listings, follows, comments, or reports.
- Tamper with attribution, ratings, or analytics signals.
3. No fraud
You may not:
- Misrepresent your identity, location, or qualifications.
- List items you don't intend to sell, can't legally sell, or don't have authority to sell.
- Use fake tracking numbers, recycle other shipments' tracking, or falsely mark orders shipped.
- Submit fraudulent disputes or chargebacks.
- Use stolen payment methods or stolen Stripe accounts.
- Solicit off-platform payment to evade platform fees or buyer protections.
- Manipulate prices through collusion or wash trading.
4. No illegal activity
You may not use the Service to commit, plan, or facilitate any illegal act, including:
- Selling or shipping prohibited or illegal goods (see Community & Marketplace Rules §3).
- Violating export controls, sanctions, or import laws.
- Violating tax obligations (you are responsible — see the Marketplace Seller Agreement §5).
- Violating intellectual-property rights (see Community & Marketplace Rules §3 and the DMCA Policy).
5. Security
If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to chambersjohn310@gmail.com. We will not pursue legal action against good-faith security researchers who follow coordinated disclosure (give us a reasonable window to fix before public disclosure, do not access or alter other users' data, do not test against production users beyond proof-of-concept, do not use social engineering against staff).
6. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP are handled through the strike, suspension, and payout-hold processes in the Community & Marketplace Rules and the Marketplace Seller Agreement. Severe violations (fraud, illegal goods, child safety, hate speech, doxxing, harassment, security attacks) result in immediate suspension without prior warning, and may be reported to law enforcement.
7. Reporting
Report violations in-app via the report menu, or to:
- chambersjohn310@gmail.com — all reports: trust and safety, security, copyright, and formal legal notices. Put the topic in the subject line.
8. Appeals
If we take action you believe was incorrect, you can appeal to chambersjohn310@gmail.com with your account name and the reason. We will respond within 7 business days in most cases.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP. Material changes will be announced in-app.
